CONSUMER DIRECTED SERVICES

Consumer Directed Services (CDS)

The well known CDS program is designed to serve individuals who have a multitude of physical disabilities and/or medical conditions that make it difficult to thrive in the comfort of their own homes. Our Kings and Queens Home Health (OKQ) can employ a personal care attendant to assist with activities of daily living in a compassionate and professional manner outside of a restricted, institutionalized setting such as a hospital or nursing home.  This attendant can be a person that you know, love and trust with the exclusion of a spouse or parent. The attendant does not have to be a licensed professional but must be able to pass a background screening (some exclusions do apply). OKQ will assist the person in need of care with selecting an attendant as well as hiring and training them making the entire process completely effortless. In order to be eligible for this program, the King or Queen in need of services must be capable of directing their own care. This program is fully funded by MO Healthnet (Medicaid) and will result in no cost at all to the consumer or their family.

IN HOME SERVICES

The In Home program has been specially designed to cater to individuals who are in grave need of personal care assistance in their home but suffer from medical conditions that prevent them from being able to direct their own care or stay in constant control of their environment. Our Kings and Queens Home Health (OKQ) is committed to working closely with a family member or friend to execute the start of services from the beginning of the process to the end. Unlike the CDS program, the personal care attendant cannot be an immediate family member but can be an extended family member or close personal friend who can pass a background screening (some exclusions do apply). OKQ can also find the right attendant for you. Under this program the King or Queen in need of services can receive both unlicensed and/or licensed professional medical assistance that will be tailored to their needs. This program is fully funded by MO Healthnet (Medicaid) and will result in no cost at all to the consumer or their family.

info about

DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH

Our Kings and Queens Home Health's Department of Mental Health serves citizens by working to prevent, treat and rehabilitate individuals with mental disorders, developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders; and by improving the public understanding and attitudes about those with mental health conditions. We recognize that these individuals as well as their families face greater challenges both in the home and while out in the community. Because our services are centered on empowering, we help the Kings and Queens that we serve become valued members of their communities. Those who are serviced under this contract live with intellectual disabilities acquired before adulthood and are likely to continue indefinitely resulting in substantial functional limitations in the areas of self care, receptive/expressive language, learning, mobility, self direction, capacity for independent living and economic self sufficiency. This program is fully funded by MO Healthnet (Medicaid) and will result in no cost at all to the consumer or their family.
